Models
A model is a representation of a geophysical or chemical-biological process or phenomena, and can be used to calculate e.g current speed from a SAR image or the SAR backscatter value from a measurement of current speed. The first type of model, using SAR data to compute a geophysical parameter, is called a inverse model. The second type of model, starting with a geophysical parameter and estimating the corresponding SAR signal, is called an forward model.
MARSAIS Models
M4S
- An ocean surface currents model
RIM
- A radar imaging model
Oil Spill Model (OSM)
- Predicts transport of oil spills
Spilled/clean sea RBC (Radar Backscattering Contrast) model
- Computes the radar backscattering contrast between a spill
and its surrounding clean sea.
